How To Roll Your Weed In 5 Different Types

Regular Joint – This is the first type of joint you need to learn how to roll. The main idea here is to grind some weed, put it in some rolling paper (gum-side up), roll it up to the gum, lick the gum, seal the joint, and smoke it. There are many short cuts of learning how to do this, but in the end, you’ll want to learn to do it without using any extra tools or anything so keep that in mind!

Regular Joint

  • Grind or pick apart your bud and spread it across a rolling paper
  • Pinch the rolling paper with the bud in it between your thumb and index finger on both hands
  • Roll up and down so the weed sticks together and forms a line
  • Roll up and down so the weed sticks together and forms a line
  • Roll the joint around the tube of weed so the paper covers all of the bud. The sticky strip of the paper should be sticking out above the rest
  • Lick the sticky strip and press it down to seal. Pinch / twist one end.

Blunt – Blunts are made out of tobacco leaves and get you a nice and rich high. Blunts are a little trickier to roll because of the material they’re made out of. You’re going to want to use a moist blunt wrap or cigarillo. The dryer it is, the more brittle it is for rolling and the worse it smokes. There are a few methods to rolling blunts, but I think I’ll only list my favorite two. The first(and most practical/common/quickest) way is to use a blade of some sort to cut a straight line all the way down the middle of the blunt. After it’s open, empty the tobacco. Once that is done, you basically put the grinned weed in and roll it like a regular joint. The second (and most satisfying/smoothest) way is to unravel the blunt’s outside flavoring leaves and then cut the inside layer right on the crease. Put the grinned weed up, seal it, and re-roll the outside flavoring leaves as they were in the beginning.

Blunt

  • Moisten the cigar with your saliva, and unwrap the outer layer first.
  • Use a knife to cut the inner wrap lengthwise and dump the ‘guts.’ Rewet the inner and fill with whacky tobacco.
  • Roll up (like its a joint) then dry it out with lighter.
  • Rewet the outer layer and re-wrap the inner layer with the outer layer (this helps you keep it somewhat tight).
Cross Joint– We all saw this in the movie ‘Pineapple Express’. The famed 3 headed joint! These are cool looking and there’s a lot of ways to roll one. They aren’t too easy to roll OR smoke, however they’re worth a try.
Cross Joint
  • This requires two joints, one slightly fatter than the other
  • Poke a hole through the fatter one and through the midsection of the smaller one
  • Slide smaller into the hole of the fatter one (that’s what she said) so that each end of the smaller should be equal in length from the intersection
  • Wrap the gummy strip around the intersection of the two joints so everything sticks together

Inside Out –These are premium for eliminating excess paper to increase taste. They look impressive when you roll them and are healthier than regular joints because you’re smoking less carcinogens!

Inside Out Joint

  • Roll this like a regular joint, but with the gummed strip facing up and away from the rest of the paper and the bud
  • Seal it without the gummed strip, which can be difficult
  • Light the gummed strip that is standing perpendicular from the rest of the joint. The flame should travel up the side of the joint, consuming the gummed strip, before reaching the top of the joint.

Dutch Tulip – These are really cool looking and produce a really heavy hit like a cigar. They look like a tulip as they burn. The cherry gets huge on these and will stay in one piece until the very end. They are easy and quick to roll.

Dutch Tulip

  • Make a square shape out of your rolling papers. Depending on the paper, you can cut them down, or put 2 or 3 together, you can do it if you think creatively.
  • Fold the paper diagonally, but leave the gum exposed. You?ll need it to fold over the edges of the paper and make a seal.
  • Lick the gum and fold it over.
  • Fill the cone up with weed and pack it down nicely. You?ll need to leave some space to that you can wrap the tube with some paper and seal it. Start filling the cone with very fine pieces of bud, that way the cone is completely and evenly full.
  • Make the roach. I prefer to use a longer roach, I usually make half of the paper length the roach.A longer roach can do three things. 1)Add structural stability to your joint. 2)Make it easier to smoke the whole way. 3) Cools smoke down a bit. Licking the roach will help it stay rolled up tightly. Some like to heat it a bit with the lighter, its all a matter of preference.
  • Fill the paper with the roach and an even mixture of marijuana, or tobacco.
  • Now roll it up. I used the backflip method because it uses less paper, but you could roll up a traditional fatty if you wanted to. Remember to make sure the tube-like joint is fat enough to support the weight of the tulip, I can’t stress this enough.
  • Insert the weed end of the tube-like joint into the end of the cone, then try to wrap the paper tightly (as possible without slaughtering the joint) with the gummed strip from another paper. Remember, your tube should be fat enough to support the weight of the tulip. You could use string or an elastic to secure the cone to the tube, but you?d be smoking rubber or wool.
  • Slice off a tiny tiny bit at the top so there is a tiny hole, Spark it up, inhale, exhale, and prepare to get lifted
